May 5, 2023 - Funfly Blackwater Swamp

I put in a lot of time working on the RV-10 in the last week -- 33 hours -- and hadn't flown, so today I went up for a fun flight.  Weather was great.  The air was nice and smooth.

Here, I'm heading across the Bay towards Rock Hall.  I almost always go to the Eastern Shore for fun flying.  Almost never west.

It's nice with so much green now.

Now heading south past the Kent Narrows.  Visibility is excellent.  You can see the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in the distant right.

Looking down at Parsons Island, in the Eastern Bay.

Passing over the St. Michaels peninsula.

Deer!

A big horse farm estate.

Entering the Blackwater marsh and river area.

You see a duckhunters blind almost everywhere you look.

A tall duck hunters blind.

The marsh grass hasn't turned green yet.

This house is located way out into the marsh.  I see no roads so I guess everything to build the house was brought in by boat.

Beautiful area to fly.

There's some green.

Passing by the Bestpitch Ferry Road bridge on the Chicacmacomico River.  Or maybe it's the Transquaking River.  It's hard to tell, there are so many rivers and creeks in this area.
